Imperial Dental Associates Supports St. Jude
This month, Imperial Dental Associates dentist, Dr. Andrea Dean had the profound honor of supporting St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital by attending the fourth annual St. Jude Give to Live Gala held in Stamford.
The event was hosted by the St. Jude Give to Live Society. The society includes loyal donors who provide charitable gifts of $2,500 or more throughout the year. Held at Abigail Kirsch at the Loading Dock, the gala included dinner, drinks, auctions, and special St. Jude moments. All proceeds from the event directly benefited St. Jude.
As one of the biggest cancer research hospitals for children, St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital is renowned for treating childhood cancer without charging families. Treatment, travel, housing, and food are all covered by St. Jude. Unlike most hospitals, the majority of funding used for research, to treat children, and to cover families’ costs comes from donors. Families need not worry about meeting deductibles or copayments for treatment.
In addition, St. Jude provides an onsite school and child life specialists, to help children acclimate to their new temporary home while undergoing cancer treatment. St. Jude also provides counseling services for parents, guardians, and siblings, translation services, and many other helpful services including grocery delivery and more. When children are treated at St. Jude, the only thing oncologists, nurses, and support staff want families to focus on, is helping their child defeat cancer.

Supporting St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital is just one of many ways Dr. Geni and Dr. Dean serve others through donations of time, money, skill, and resources.
Dr. Geni co-founded the Grant a Smile Charity in 2007. Grant A Smile provides dental treatment to underserved women in Connecticut. She also serves as a dental mentor for A Better Chance of Westport, and St. Paul Christian School.
Dr. Dean has volunteered her time with a free dental outreach clinic in Indianapolis, where she earned her DDS degree, and completed her residency. She’s also served as a volunteer for Global Brigades, traveling to Honduras to assist rural communities in achieving better public health.
